Meet VSB Marketing

Marketing experience. Small-business perspective. Independent guidance.

I didn’t take the traditional path into marketing.

After serving in the Marines, I spent years working in industries including automotive, refrigeration repair, and manufacturing. Those experiences gave me an appreciation for the people behind small businesses and the work it takes to build something of your own. After all, everyone starts a business because they love reviewing P&L statements, managing inventory, and building employee schedules, right?

While working full-time and raising a family, I went back to school and eventually found my way into marketing. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Business Marketing and am currently working toward my MBA. That path eventually led me to the agency side of marketing, where I managed client relationships and helped businesses navigate strategy, budgets, paid advertising, SEO, social media, and the many decisions that come with marketing a business.

That experience also showed me a problem.

Business owners are often spending thousands—or tens of thousands—of dollars on marketing while relying almost entirely on the companies selling those services to tell them whether they're working.

The reports can be complicated. Recommendations can come with another invoice attached. And even good agencies can look at a business primarily through the part of marketing they're responsible for.

I wanted VSB to sit somewhere different.

VSB Marketing exists to give business owners an independent perspective. Someone who can look at all the various agencies, vendors, budgets, reports, proposals, and strategies and help the owner understand how all of those pieces work together.

Sometimes that means identifying something that needs to change. Sometimes it means helping negotiate a proposal or asking an agency better questions. And sometimes it means looking at the numbers and saying, “This is working. Don't mess with it.”

Why small business?

Because I've spent most of my life working alongside the kinds of people who build them.

I grew up in Wayne County and have spent my life in Northeast Ohio. Contractors, tradespeople, family businesses, and growing local companies aren't an abstract “target market” to me. They're businesses run by people putting their own money, reputation, and livelihood on the line.

They deserve marketing guidance that respects that.

What I want VSB to be

I'm not trying to build another massive marketing agency.

I want VSB to become a trusted seat at the table for a select group of businesses—whether that's through a one-time independent audit, occasional guidance when an important decision comes up, ongoing marketing oversight, or more hands-on fractional support.

The goal is simple: help business owners understand their marketing, make better decisions, and spend their money with confidence.

We Build With You, Not For You.
